Castle Parks Summer Education Programme

« Other Public Destinations

We are very excited to be a Learning Destination Partner of the Colchester Castle Park Summer Education Programme

Activities, which take place at Colchester Castle Park and Highwoods Country Park include:
Bat Walk
Space Talks
Bees and their homes
Bushcraft for beginners
Summer Insects and Butterflies

The adventure programme is a fun way to create a snapshot of the variety of life that can be found in our area whilst giving the opportunity to contribute in a real scientific survey.
If you take advantage of the summer programme of events and discover more about plants, bugs, history and the solar system you'll be rewarded with a special pin to commemorate the Castle Park's 125th Anniversary (attendance at 6 of the activities offered) as well as credits in the Passport to Learning (1 hour for each activity attended).

You can pick up a Summer Education Passport at the Visitor Centre in Colchester (Hollytrees Museum) Open Monday to Saturday or get one from Essex CU (1.00 postage fee applies).

Please ask a Park Ranger to stamp your CU Passport to Learning as well as stamping your Castle Park passport.
