Essex Wildlife Trust is the County's leading conservation charity. It has 7 Visitor Centres, 87 Nature Reserves and 1 Nature Park.

Abberton Reservoir offer both children and adults throughout the year...including a range of activity days which have been validated as Learning Destinations by Essex Children's University.
Fingringhoe Wick is set in a spectacular position overlooking the Colne Estuary....even on the dullest of days the view is amazing.  The centre also o ffers a full diary of events. 

Abbotts Hall Farm is a  700 acre coastal farm and the head office of Essex Wildlife Trust situated on the Blackwater Estuary. Visitors can see the success of the coastal realignment project and enjoy a fantastic, wildlife packed walk.

At Belfairs Woodland Centre in Leigh on Sea, children take part in a variety of activities such as egg hunts, wildflower trails and Spring bird watching.

The Naze at Walton on the Naze is a new centre that runs activities for children and families to educate children about natural history and the environment. Activities are designed to inspire and enthuse children about the natural world and local landscapes.

Children's activities are offered throughout the year at Langdon Nature Reserve including Scrapbook Safaris and Family Forest Fun.  The Reserrve has a wide variety of habitats including a lake, pond and woodlands.

The activity days are designed to educate and inspire children about the natural world. A variety of themed events provide children with a knowledge and understanding of how to protect wildlife and how they can encourage wildlife into their gardens and local landscapes as part of The Wildlife Trusts Living Landscapes concept.

Children may also collect stamps in their Passport to Learning when they attend Forest School and Bushcraft Clubs after school, during school holidays and at weekends at the above Essex Wildlife Centres.
