A national Passport to Learning has been created in which 7-14 year old children (and 5 & 6 year olds with their families) will collect `stamps` and hours of accredited learning. These hours of learning contribute to the award of a National Certificate.
A  Passport to Learning can be purchased from Member Schools across Essex.  Click here for more details.  The E-passport provides children with the facility to complete an online Passport with details of the activities they have taken part in and share information and pictures of the activities with other users in their school.  For more information about the E-Passport click here.  Please note that for children attending schools that are not members of the Essex Children's University their will be some additional costs involved.
Each Passport to Learning is individually numbered which makes each child, a passport holder, an individual member of the national Children's University™.
The Passport to Learning is then used by children to travel around their local area, the County and of course the UK, to various Learning Destinations, collecting `stamps` for their hours of participation in accredited out of school activities.
Travel is, after all, what a Passport is for.
The Passport to Learning can be used for activities before, during lunchtimes and after the school day and at school holiday activity programmes.  It cannot be used to collect hours of learning for school-day trips/activities.
Passports can also be used to collect hours of learning through visits to tourist and leisure attractions and also a wide range of clubs and societies.

Can you help us?
If your child attends an activity that they or you think should be part of the Essex Children's University™, we'd like to hear from you.  We won't always know what's available until somebody shows us. If we think the activity/organisation meets our standards we will register them as a Children's University™ Learning Destination where children can accumulate hours of learning. For more information on how to do this click here.
The list of schools and organisations where Children's University™ learning is offered will grow and grow.
We will update our website regularly with details of new Learning Destinations as they are created.
